List Open Work Orders and Layaways Report
Problem:
Work orders do not post journal entries to: Sales Income, Cost of Goods Sold, Inventory, or Tax Liability accounts. It is possible for a clerk to forget to convert Work Orders into completed A/R invoices at month end. And, hence the Income Statement and Balance sheet would be off for the month. Also, work orders are not included on customer statement, so the business may not be paid until the customer receives their statement. Finally, it is possible to accept full payment as tender on a Work Order, and the Work Order does not automatically convert itself to a completed A/R invoice. Solution:
The List Open Work Orders and Layaways report will allow the Accounts Receivable person to view outstanding invoices that may need to be converted into completed invoices. The report also contains a Conversion feature that will allow the Accounts Receivable person to automatically convert certain Work Orders into completed Accounts Receivable (A) invoices
