Video Document - training: packsize purchasing options v6050

Problem Description

Some items when purchased may be purchased in cases, but only sold in your business on a single-unit basis. So, there is no need to create both a case PartNo and an single PartNo and using multi-level case breakdown to link them. How do we direct Windward to order an item by the case?

Solution

There are Pack Size Purchasing Option settings in the Setup Wizard that can affect Pack Size Purchasing either on all items, or on an item-by-item basis. This allows items to be assigned a PackSize quantity. Then, the PackSize quantity can be used when an item is ordered on a purchase order to either:

1. Have the item order quantity rounded to a multiple of the Pack Size so that full cases can be shipped from the supplier. This used when the supplier would consider 6 x Supplier_PartNo ordered to be 1 case of 6 for example.

or

2. Divide the quantity required on the order by the Pack Size to get either 1-case, 2-cases, 3-cases. This is used when the supplier would consider 6 x Supplier_PartNo ordered to be 6 cases of 6 for example.
